Description
Originated in New Zealand/Australia after naming it after a famous Russian ballerina of that time. This started around the 1920s when the ballerina was touring Australia and New Zealand at that time. It has been debated by both Australia and New Zealand who invented this dessert. The recipe is based on a typical meringue, the difference between both desserts is that a pavlova has a soft marshmallow like texture whilst a meringue has a crunchy texture both outside and inside.
